As a group, we work hard to maintain a relaxed and supportive environment, preferring an emphasis on creative thinking instead of hours at the bench. Andrew Goodwin
Andrew is Professor of Materials Chemistry and University Research Professor at Oxford. He studied at Sydney and Cambridge before moving to the ICL in 2009. Andrew is a Fellow of St John’s College.
Ana Fairbairn
Ana is the Group's Project Assistant and Research Facilitator. Her responsibilities include grant financial and operations management, planning and execution of team meetings and conferences, and logistical oversight within the group.
Her scientific background is in dietetics for which she holds a Masters degree.
Simon Cassidy
Simon is the Diffraction and Magnetometry Facility Supervisor in the Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory, and is in charge of the advanced diffraction facilities used in the group. He was both an MChem and DPhil student at Oxford, supervised by Simon Clarke. Simon is a Lecturer in Inorganic Chemistry at Somerville College.
Theodosios Famprikis
Theo is a Royal Society Newton Fellow with research interests in energy materials. He holds the Malcolm Green Early Career Fellowship in Inorganic Chemistry at Balliol College.
Nimrod Benshalom
Nim is a Marie-Curie Fellow working on phonon–magnon coupling. Nim is a Junior Research Fellow at Corpus Christi College.
Yevheniia Kholina
Yevheniia is a Swiss National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Mobility Fellow and Fellow by Special Election at Magdalen College; her particular emphasis is on synthetic control over the degree and nature of correlated disorder in MOFs.
Raymond Chong
Raymond is a Schmidt AI Fellow developing ‘disorder aware’ approaches to materials modelling.
Kieran Orr
Kieran is a Senior Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Manager associated with the “Responsive Disorder” Royal Society Faraday Discovery Grant.
Tristan Dolling
Tristan is a Postdoctoral Research Associate, working on the problem of synthetic control over disordered materials.
Hunter Windsor
Hunter is a Postdoctoral Research Associate funded by our TRUMAT ERC Advanced Grant who is focussing on Voronoi-type descriptions of correlated disorder.
Adam Stones
Adam is a Postdoctoral Research Associate working on statistical mechanical models of correlated disorder.
Manisha Islam
Manisha is a Postdoctoral Research Associate working on single-crystal scattering studies of complex orbital states. Manisha also holds the Millard and Lee Alexander Postdoctoral Fellowship at Christ Church.
Elodie Harbourne
Elodie is a DPhil student, cofunded by the UK XFEL hub, who is working on local structure problems in Prussian blue analogues. Elodie is a Lecturer in Chemistry at St Catherine’s College.
Robert Paraoan
Robert is a DPhil student working on the lattice dynamics and mechanical properties of Truchet-tile materials.
Helena Barker
Helena is a DPhil in the group working on understanding hidden local structure and dynamics in continuous random networks.
Guy Greenbaum
Guy is a DPhil in the group working on information science and the applications of complex systems in neuromorphic computing.
Florence Ellary
Flo is a DPhil in the group with an interest in the topological description of disordered systems.
